FOOD PURCHASED for orphanages in Rousse, Bulgaria. Fund started with RC Preveza, Greece – a FURTHER tonne food sent during winter and delivered by RC Rousse, Bulgaria.


 

1998

10 cu metres Aid taken by road – clothing, toys, blankets, tinned food and 2 tonnes of dried food (beans,rice,lentils) distributed with help of Rotarians from RC Rousse.


 

1999

20 cu metres Aid taken by road – clothing, toys, bedding, towels, computers and gardening tools distributed with help of RC Rousse.


 

2000

20 foot Container – 36 cu metres Aid – sent by sea. Contained clothing, toys, bedding, towels, toiletries, tools, sewing machines and textiles. We traveled by road and distributed everything to Orphanages and Disabled People with help of local Rotarians.


 

2001

40 foot Container – 76 cu metres Aid – sent by sea. Contained 50 new waterproof mattresses, 120 cases incontinence products, 620 boxes clothing, bedding, towels, toiletries, toys; wheelchairs, sewing machines and 172 comfort bags for elderly people. We distributed everything as before.


 

2002

40 foot Container -76 cu metres Aid - sent to Rousse.

20 foot Container - 36 cu metres Aid - sent to Bourgas.

These contained clothing, shoes, bedding, towels, washing powder, handicraft materials, prams, toys, medical equipment, commodes, sanitary products, sewing machines, toiletries, living aids for the disabled, tools, overalls, 50 new waterproof mattresses, comfort bags, 500 Rotary Shoe boxes and 2 organs. We traveled by road and distributed everything with help of Rotarians from RC Rousse and RC Bourgas.


 

2003

40 foot Container 76 cu metres Aid - sent by sea to Sophia and Rousse.
20 foot Container 36 cu metres Aid – sent by sea to Bourgas.

Aid included 50 computers for schools in Bulgaria, clothing, toys, games, sewing machines, musical instruments, toiletries, bedding, incontinence products, medical equipment for hospitals, plaster cast bandages, bedding, wheelchairs, commodes, hospital uniforms, 1000 Rotary Shoe Boxes and 40 'Home Start' packs. Christine distributed everything with the help of Rotarians from the three Rotary Clubs.


 

2004

April - 40 foot Container – 76 cu metres Aid - sent by sea to Sophia.

This contained 70 complete computer systems plus 40 boxes of peripheral equipment including printers, monitors, scanners, keyboards, mice etc. Several televisions, clothing, toys, wheelchairs including some for children, bedding, towels, shoes, aids for the disabled, comfort bags, incontinence products, 'Home Start' packs and 1540 Rotary Shoe Boxes. Christine distributed much of this with the help of Rotarians. The computers went into schools in the Sophia region.

August 2004 – 40 foot Container – 76 cu metres Aid – sent by sea to Bourgas. Rotarians from Hull and Scunthorpe Rotary Clubs and friends loaded this container. It was completely filled with incontinence products of all kinds, many of them washable. All these products have been distributed by the RC Bourgas to Homes for the Elderly and Mentally Handicapped Disabled People in the Bourgas region.


 

2005

April – 20 foot Container – 36 cu metres – sent by sea to Sophia. This contained 172 complete computer systems for the 'computers into schools' scheme plus clothing, bedding, babywear, toys and shoes. Christine traveled to Bulgaria to carry out the distribution.

October 2005 - 20 foot Container – 36 cu metres – sent by sea to Stara Zagora. To be distributed by Rotary Club Radnovo to flood victims in their area. The container was sent as a result of an email requesting aid from the President of Stara Zagora. Aid included blankets, bedding, warm clothing of all kinds for all ages, coats, shoes and toys for the children. Christine traveled to Bulgaria at the end of November to distribute the Aid with the help of Rotarians from Rotary Club Radnovo.

104 Computer systems and 28 boxes of clothing and toys for children were sent to Bourgas. The boxes were assigned to a home for children. The computers have been installed in 50 different educational establishments in the Bourgas region. Christine visited some of the recipients in May 2006.


 

2006

March – 20 foot Container – 200 computer systems– sent by sea to Sophia. These have been distributed by the Rotary Club of Sophia Center to schools in 27 towns throughout Bulgaria. Local Rotary Clubs in those towns are overseeing the installation of computer halls in schools in their areas.

April 2006 – 20 foot Container – 11.5 Tonnes of Linen – sent to the University Hospital Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. This included sheets, pillowcases, blankets, coverlets, uniforms, scrub suits and theatre linen.

July 2006 – 20 foot Container – 11 Tonnes of Linen – sent to Bourgas and distributed to 14 Social Homes around Bourgas. This consignment included sheets, pillowcases, blankets, duvet covers and draw sheets.

200 Sets of Sheets, 400 Pillowcases and Blankets sent to Social Home/School at Elhovo (district Jambol). 200 toys also included in consignment for the 100+ Children attending this school who have Learning Difficulties.

A holiday provided for 22 of the children attending this school who have no families at all.


 

2007

January 2007 – 40 foot Container – 16 Tonnes of Linen – sent to The District Hospital, Rouse, The Gynaecological Hospital, Varna, Prista Home for Elderly, Rouse, Home for Children with Learning Difficulties, Brestovitsa Mother & Child Home, Rouse.

131 Packages containing bed linen, blankets, warm clothing, incontinence products, toys and an electric wheelchair sent to Club Smelost, a self-help organization for Disabled People, Rouse.

Clothing, Toys and Shoeboxes provided for children in the Mother & Child Home, Rouse.

600 Toys given to the Brestovitsa Home for Children with Learning Difficulties, Rouse District.. These included Educational toys, Cuddly Soft Toys, Subbutto Football Game, Garage & Cars and 30 Musical Instruments.

116 'Comfort Bags' for the elderly residents in Prista Home for Elderly, Rouse.

Dressed Dolls, Toys and Gift Boxes for Ryna Gatteva Home for Girls, Rouse.

600 + 'Household' Shoeboxes given to Disabled People in Rouse.
